For those of you who were not in attendance at the City Council meeting last night, we had a very well received entourage of presentations regarding the proliferation of property management signs in our neighborhood, next steps, etc.
A big thanks to Peter Bunder, Tom and Sarah Mustillo, Colin William, and the others who presented this evening.
The City Attorney, Eric Burns, asked Zachary Baiel if we could provide any information regarding the signs growth in our neighborhood; specifically, when the signs started to appear.
So, if you have any information about the signs near your home, please fill out our convenient online form.
Just a reminder that the new WL trash ordinance went into effect on 7/1/2013.
Here are a few important features of the new trash ordinance.
- The new monthly trash fee/rate is $16.00. This includes weekly, curbside pickup of trash, recycle and yard waste. The drop off recycle center at 705 S. River Road is always open.
- Trash cans must have a tight fitting lid when placed at the curbside. Trash containers must be removed from curbside by 11PM on the day of pickup.
- Grass clippings will no longer be picked up by the street dept. This practice is recommended by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management . A handout discussing this practice is available.
The Master Gardener Association of Tippecanoe County will hold a composting educational session at the Tippecanoe county Extension Center on 9/14/2013 from 9AM-12 noon. Recommendations for dealing with grass clippings will be discussed at this workshop.
